Our royal 100km route originates from the biggest Carinthian mountain challenge, K24, which has been taking place here since 2000.
The start of our 100km race begins in the center of Črna na Koroškem, at the main venue of the event near the Cultural Center.
After warm-up, where loud supporters accompany the runners through the village into the long night, the path continues into the hills, where after the first ascent, there is a 6km run through the abandoned tunnels of the Underground of Peca. When the run through the tunnel ends, the longest ascent on the entire route follows, which will be slightly easier due to the refreshment station at home on Peca, but it is still necessary to climb about 1500m+ to reach the highest peak of the entire route, the 2126m high mountain Peca. From there, a descent follows towards the Kumer farm, where friendly locals await you at the refreshment station. This is followed by a flat section towards the second ascent to Olševa, whose summit we skip for safety reasons, then turn left along the ridge and steeply descend towards the refreshment stop at Grohot (where transition bags await you) and of course a warm meal. Then there is another fairly steep ascent towards the summit of Raduha, where you climb again over 2000m above sea level. From the top, you slowly descend towards the Koča na Loki, where enthusiastic caretakers await you at the lodge, and there you can also treat yourself to a massage for probably already somewhat tired legs. This is followed by the long Smrekovško pogorje, which offers beautiful views, and the path gradually ascends and descends. When you reach the top of Smrekovec, where our judges direct you to the Dom na Smrekovcu, where pasta and pizza await you. The path slowly descends, and with shorter ascents, you reach Slemen, from where you continue on a dirt road to Križan, where there is usually a lively atmosphere at the refreshment stop, to prepare you for the final significant ascent to Uršlja gora (1699m). When you reach the top, you can enjoy the beautiful panorama of all the peaks you have already conquered. This is followed by a fairly long descent towards Žerjav, where almost the entire hamlet greets you and accompanies you over the last obstacle on the way. When you reach the top, you can already hear the activities in the starting and finishing area, and all that remains is to enjoy the descent to the finish line.
At the finish, a crowd of visitors awaits you, and there is no need to hide your emotions – the journey is complete!
